Burning Man, Art on Fire, a fundraiser cinema night for AfrikaBurn

AfrikaBurn is rolling out the red carpet for the premiere of BURNING MAN: ART ON FIRE. A documentary that follows the unpredictable journey of the artists who defy reason to bring their massive installations and sculptures to the punishing Nevada desert.

Filmed just after Burning Man’s legendary founder suddenly died, the community of artists is challenged by impossible timing and blinding dust storms. This richly cinematic, multi-character narrative unfolds over months as they imagine, build and ultimately burn the extraordinary main structures in this temporary city of dreams…

We are premiering this documentary film at our Junction Hotel headquarters in Salt River on the 15th of June at 7:00pm. All profits will be donated to AfrikaBurn

Tickets start at R80 and can be purchased here:

Tickets can be purchased with food vouchers, popcorn will be on sale at the event along with sodas and refreshments. We’re going to turn the Junction into the world’s biggest love seat, so please bring along a cushion or pillow to get extra snuggly.

Space at the event will be limited and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.  Covid protocols will be followed (note that if lockdown levels change and we can’t put on the film night, then we’ll be refunding and rescheduling – minus the card processing fees). Huge thanks to the production team behind Art on Fire for helping us to put this together.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a suitable outfit for the premiere … included in your ticket cost is an exciting, free clothing swop experience.

We will have a few racks of beautiful clothes( previously owned) available at the event, starting from 4pm. Bring a bag/few items of your own clothes that no longer resonate with you, and swop them out for anything that takes your fancy. The more people that participate, the more fun it is. 💃

Any leftover clothing items will be donated to an affiliated charity, or kept in storage for the next clothing swop event. 🙂

The event will be open from 4pm, along with snacks for sale and some great tunes to get you in the zone … Who knows, you might just find your new favourite piece of clothing 😁🛍️
